Our Story
A neighborhood restaurant with a global palate and a seasonal soul.
The Meridian was born from a simple belief: that a great meal can turn an ordinary evening into an occasion. Chef Marcus Bellamy opened our doors on the Upper West Side in 2019 with a mission to celebrate seasonal American cuisine through the lens of global technique.
“I cook with the seasons because nature is the best menu writer. My job is simply to listen.”
After a decade of cooking in Michelin-starred kitchens in New York and Lyon, Marcus wanted to build something different — a restaurant where the food was uncompromising but the atmosphere was warm, where every ingredient told a story of place and season.
We work directly with farms within 150 miles of Manhattan, changing our menu as the seasons change. Our sommelier David Chen has built a 350-label wine program with a focus on sustainable and biodynamic producers. Our bar director Sarah Kim creates cocktails that are as thoughtful and seasonal as the food.
The result is a restaurant that feels both special and familiar — a place where celebrations happen naturally and regulars become friends.
